GNUF Poker is one of the newest additions to the Prima Poker network. GNUF is based on Microgaming software and is relatively good compared to its competition. The theme and the colors of the poker room leave a lot to be desired. The good thing here is that with the tried and true software of Microgaming, you will see very little issues and loads of functionality.

Being part of the Prima Poker Network is always an advantage for online poker rooms like GNUF Poker. Microgaming developed software is probably the best in terms of functionality, user-friendliness, accessibility and player options. Available here are player notes, table resizing capability and great filtering features. However, GNUF Poker is a bit lacking on the graphics side, as in it really doesn’t have much of a poker feel to the room. Again the big thing going for GNUF here is the fact that they are part of the largest network of online poker rooms.

The current first time depositor’s bonus on GNUF Poker is worth 100% of your initial deposit up to $50. This does seem like a relatively small bonus compared to other bonuses in this industry. But I am guessing that the bonus is small because of all the promotions available at GNUF. It is fairly easy to claim your deposit bonus, but it is recommended that you play at least $1/$2 tables. In more technical terms, you must clear 7 GNUF points for every $1 of bonus cash you get.

There are plenty of promotions going on at GNUF Poker right now. Every once in a while Gnuf declares a hand to be magic and all participating players are granted a share of the $2,500 Magic Hand bonus. Also available are the Sit-n-Go Big games where players that win 5 consecutive tournaments can earn up to $25,000. Then you have the Bad Beat Jackpot, loads of guaranteed games and plenty of freeroll games in all poker varieties. WSOP and WPT events are also starting soon.

There is an unbelievable amount of soft competition at GNUF Poker. It certainly isn’t the softest I’ve encountered but it is very close. The majority of soft play is at the medium and high stake tables.
Variety (7)
The variety of poker variants here is very good. From the old favorites of Texas Hold’em and Omaha to the lesser played games of 7-Card Stud, 5-Card Stud and 5-Card Draw. You will even see that the freeroll and guaranteed games are available in all of the varieties offered. The 5-Card Draw games are very popular here with good amounts of traffic at the lower stake tables.

Since GNUF Poker is part of the Prima network, you will always see plenty of traffic around here. Usually around 20,000 players seated during peak times. While that seems like a lot of people, there are online poker rooms that have more than 100k players and there are some that have significantly smaller numbers of seated players. There are plenty of guaranteed tournaments here, available in all poker varieties and loads of freeroll games. WSOP and WPT satellite games will be offered in the near future.

Most of the traffic here is scene at the Texas Hold’em tables. One interesting thing about the traffic at GNUF is that more than 50% of players are seated at ring table games. Occasionally you will find a couple players at the $200/$400 No Limit Hold’em Table, but it is rare.

Toll free telephone support is available to players around the world from GNUF Poker. Another support option you will find is email support. It is advised that players use the phone support for urgent issues and the email support for all other issues. There is also a FAQ section on GNUF’s website.

Being that GNUF Poker is such a new addition to the Prima Poker Network, this score will remain midrange until we see if there are security issues and how they are handled if they arise. I like to see online poker rooms around for at least a year before getting a high score here.

Your options for deposits and cashouts are the same, with the following options available; Neteller, Click2Pay, Citadel Commerce, Wire Transfer, Visa and Mastercard. Since I haven’t made a deposit or a withdrawal here yet I don’t know what the average time is before both of those are credited. |
